Twenty% Finished!

It's been grueling but I finally finished the 20% project about Puerto Rico!

I accomplished almost everything I wanted to do, and I feel that this is just a start to me spreading awareness about the dire state of my nation.

To finish this project, I created a clean website that clearly explained my cause and made it exceptionally easy to donate to several popular relief funds.

On the side, I am working on simply making more art that illustrates the desperation Puerto Rico is in. For the project, I decided to have my "gallery" be actual pictures I received from my grandmother's house in Puerto Rico. Thankfully, she is not injured and she has so far been able to make contact with us, though her house is in awful shape. Specifically in one picture (below), there is an image showing her backyard.

I remember being young and looking out through there. It was always lush- the lack of cold weather in Rio Piedras made me think it was a year-long tropical paradise. It doesn't look like that anymore.

There was a point where I didn't know what to do for my Twenty% project.

Once I received these pictures, I knew I had to draw attention to the utter neglect that Puerto Rico has been subject to. Even before my island was in ruins, we were $73 billion in debt. And no one cared.

Sure, this is just semester course, but I couldn't live with myself if I did not use my skills to create any possible way to get the message across that they need help.

All in all, I am so grateful for the experience, and I have learned countless things that will help me in the future!
