I'm super pumped to learn more about photography! I've always loved it but its never been as accessible to me as traditional art and design, so I'm excited to get out of my comfort zone. I can't wait to translate my artistic vision into a different medium.
I've been following the work of Daniela K. Monteiro for years.

She's photographed many notable people, such as musicians like Lava La Rue, SZA, Lil Yachty, Donald Glover, J Cole, as well many of my personal favorite fashion icons. Besides her work with popular artists, she inspires me because of the honesty reflected through her portraits.
She often shoots either one person or a small group at a time, making the final result a much more personal experience for the audience. The subjects do not come across as posed- their personality shines through, and the audience experiences the energy of the shoot themselves. Even with traditional art, it can be difficult to communicate your concentrated passion to an audience of people who weren't there for the creative process. Monteiro accomplishes this impeccably well.
